Engaging Campus Communities Through Dance

Dakshina on Campus

The company's ecclectic repertory of Classical Indian Dance, Modern Dance and Popular dance forms makes it a perfect fit for college campuses. We work closely with faculty and staff in creating meaningful educational experiences for community members through dance. Some examples of available campus programming includes events that would be suitable for:

  1. An Art of Peace program for Gandhi's birthday around October 2nd annually.
  2. Connecting religious studies programs with Bharata Natyam, a dance form that originated in the temples of South India.
  3. Celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May annually.
  4. Multi-Cultural Center programming.
  5. Performing Arts Centers on Campus programming.
  6. Dance department and Ethnomusicology department programming.
